Sun Flare :)

Yesterday I posted about experimenting with sun flare, and I ended up deleting the post...mainly because the pictures were just boring. Fun to have and look back on. Not interesting enough to share. So this morning I decided to be better prepared and even bring a model...enter my dog, Bela. She could not have been better. She actually sat in that position for 10 frames...I knew I loved her for a reason.

Lights

Tonight I took some pictures of our newly hung Christmas lights. I also decided to try out my new wide angle lens. This made for some really cool shots. Not to mention taking pictures at night requires a steady hand!

*I keep changing the pictures in this post because I'm not happy with the lighting in them. Note to self...even when you're just playing around, make sure you are taking advantage of all available light (windows!).

Today was the Fort Mill Christmas parade, and I got to catch some pictures before the action. You might get tired of me eventually, Sonja.

The desk

I mentioned before about the beautiful desk that my husband, Andy, built. This is by far the coolest thing that he's ever done for me. Until now, all the landscape designs that I've done have been drawn on a travel drafting table set on our ottoman in the living room. It drove Andy crazy having all my drawing supplies cluttering up the living room, which may have been what got him to build this for me. Either way, I absolutely love it! Too bad it's the 'off season' for designs. I can't wait to put this to use :) Thanks, babe!

I'm trying to get all the experience I can with my new camera, so my neighbor (who also happens to be a good friend) let me take pictures of her four year old little man, Ean, and her 22 month old niece, Abby. We went to Penland Tree Farm to get into the Christmas Spirit. I've already realized that the toddler is going to be a hard subject to photograph. She was VERY active, but I think we got some adorable shots. Ean was much easier to shoot, but he loved sticking that tongue out! All in all, it was a great first shoot. Thanks Sonja and Steph for letting your kids be my test subjects!
